Is this just wishful thinking or...? My kitten,Alley, will usually mirror my sleeping and waking pattern(thank god!).Whenever we hit the sack I allow a bit of play time for her.I found out(the hard way)that moderate play is good.Whereas intense play will have her wound up for an hour or so.Not good.My kitten also takes naps with me if I get that luxury on my days off.

What tricks or approaches do you all use? I am finding that she is not sleeping through the night like before. Is it because she is getting older? The 3:00AM ankle biting session we had last night was something I do NOT want to repeat.

Thanks!

Bijou pretty much sleeps when we do plus most of the day.

He does get up sometimes in the night to have a snack (so my husband says), but I sleep like I'm dead so hear nothing. Bijou also sleeps beside me with his head on my pillow and covered to the neck with blankets so most nights he stays put.

Yup - that pretty much sums things up.

Cats will get used to your sleep patterns over time. If you acknowledge them in the middle of the night, it will only encourage them to interrupt your sleep. Mine do pretty good unless I sleep in too long.

My
Chilsa
, when I was working jobs that had me on a regular daily schedule, got so used to my schedule that he became a backup to my alarm clock in case it didn't go off or I didn't hear it or I turned it off instead of hitting the snooze. If I almost overslept, he would wake me up himself. But he knew about weekends and didn't wake me up for work on Saturdays!
