That does sounds good Pam! I am taking the easy way out and making up a box of couscous to have with my meal.
I'm growing kohlrabi for a friend that loves it and have never had one so I have sliced up one of those as well. I also have a nice Riesling chilling.

Holy smokes! They age it for that long? And um, seriously about the ice cream?

yeah, I bet that's a strong memory!

Tonight I was in the mood to bake bread, so we're having freshly baked foccacia with pork kebabs, sweet corn and a salad made with lettuce from my friend's garden.

Such a lot of tasty stuff!!

Well, despite the fact that it continues gorgeous weather, I'm not firing up the grill tonight. I have the end of a piece of ham, just enough to do Ham Patties, which we really like and haven't had for a while. The Scarlet Runner Beans are being very prolific, so we'll have some of them, and I have some little nugget potatoes to go with it all. And we'll flee the heated up kitchen and eat on the lawn.
Blueberries or mango for dessert.

I had a salad with celery, red peppers, cherry tomatoes, and a hard boiled egg, with raspberry pomegranate dressing. It was yummy and very filling. I also had some leftover noodles from FH's dinner. With diced tomatoes over it.

Tonight it's roast beef, baked potatoes and broccoli. It all pretty much cooks itself with little fuss. Very nice for triple digit weather.

Tonight we had pork chops, rice-a-roni, and asparagus tips. It was too hot to cook in my kitchen, so it wasn't very pleasant, and I like to cook. I think tomorrow I will marinade a pork tenderloin and grill it....if I remember to get a tank of propane!

I made "mexican" pasta...which sadly, only means I add black beans, chorizo sausage, and taco seasoning to a can of tomatoes and toss! Still, very delicious. Ive been working on a bag of sour keys ever since

Yes Wendy, there are some that are aged that long and perhaps longer. This particular bottle I have was given to us by the young man our daughter dated for awhile from Modena, Italy, home of balsamic vinegar. The consistency is rather thick compared to the stuff we get here. They take shavings of Parmesan Regianno (sp?) and sprinkle a few drops of the vinegar over it as part of their antipesto.

Yes, it is good on ice cream apparently. I, being a huge Haagen Daas ice cream fan, do not put ANYTHING on my ice cream that might detract from that wonderful, creamy, vanilla flavour.

We have broccoli every night and I never smell it - how do you cook your broccoli?

I am not a big fan of cooking in the microwave and don't like potatoes or carrots done in the microwave but I do love my broccoli and asparagus done that way. I put enough broccoli (large servings actually) for John and myself, add about a teaspoon of water and nuke for 3 minutes. The broccoli comes out perfect. If you use less broccoli then go for 2 minutes, drain and voila - perfect broccoli.
