Come on over. I love to prepare food for people who know what good food is. And yes, Rob is very appreciative. He declares we're a good team: "She cooks, I -- ooops, we -- eat!"

Yes, indeed. Tonight it will be the expensive way, though, 'cuz my freezer stock is gone
, but we're due, due, due.

I don't blame him one bit! Definitely something to look forward to.

We had lamb kebabs, rice, naan bread and curried kidney beans.
Washed down with a ubiquitous beer of course.
The cats had an interesting dinnertime too- Pushy caught a chickadee.

Your dinner sounds good as well! (Well, except for the lamb - I don't eat lamb ever since I had a pet lamb when I was little.)

Did Pushy eat the chickadee?

I took my brother out to dinner last Saturday night to a place on Kingston Road in the east end of Toronto called Cool Running. It is a small Jamaican place. Great food and the servings were huge. The Roti was large enough to feed at least 2 but my niece managed to eat the whole thing.

On the west side of... of... somewhere.
I had some ground chicken to use, so I went Pantry Diving again.

ground chicken
two small cans of mushrooms, sliced
one can of seasoned diced tomatoes (garlic and basil)
one can of tomato sauce
one can of white/cannellini beans
a few palmfuls of shredded parmesan cheese
sea salt
more garlic and basil (frozen cubes from Trader Joe's)

mix together (cooking chicken first) and cook in a large pan on the stove. Oh man... this stuff is good. I love Pantry Diving sometimes...

I guess those Johnsonville Brats must be very tasty from their apparent popularity. I'll never know because I got so annoyed at their TV advertising a few years ago -- you know the one where the guy is grilling on one side of the lake and another guy comes across the lake by boat to steal the brats, and the poor guy grilling never gets to eat? OK, they made their point, but it just really ticked me off, so I won't buy them.

For us, a salad plate with ham and avocado and assorted other friendly people. We had some junk food at Happy Hour, so I'm not going to bother with bread or anything. And my stepson's dog was plunging around the rhubarb last night and broke a stalk -- I guess I should be happy it wasn't more than that -- so I'll do something with it to go over ice cream for dessert. (Sadie's a good dog, but she's a dog -- subtlety is not her long suit.)

I had to make a trip out to my mom's house tonight to move some things in (I'm moving at the end of the month) so while I was there I ate supper with her. It was quite yummy!!
Homemade spaghetti & buttermilk cornbread! We had tiger cake for dessert.

Decided since the weather is to crappy to go outside and do anything I would spend the afternoon making a nice dinner for myself. So am doing Pot Roast, with new potato's, green beans, and savory cabbage. Not sure about dessert yet but most likely some type of fruit.

No, we didn't let him. He did kill it though.
Then about 2 hours later in runs Wiggies with a yellow finch! I cornered him in the bathroom and pried open his mouth, and the finch flew out. We took it outside and it flew away, no doubt to spread the word that my bird feeder is a death trap...

those ads were stupid!!! That cracks me up that you still refuse to buy the brand though!
What sausages do you use for Toad in the Hole? You've mentioned that dish a few times now, and I've got a hankering to try it.

I miss brats. I moved to Boston( Salem to be exact) after living in Wisc all my life. Its been 2 years since I had a good'ole backyard webber grilled hamberger.I miss thin crust pizza too. I miss the corner bar and grill. Here I know of 16 Dunkin Donuts with in 5 miles of me, and only 3 Bar and Grills. And then thay charge 6$ for a beer. There is no going out for a beer and a sandwich after work, unless I want to take out a loan to pay for it.

He probably did -- poor little guy. And you, of course, were persona non grata among your felines, I'll bet.

They wanted brand recognition -- they got it, but not the way they hoped for.

We really like Maple Leaf Fully Cooked Sausages, the maple ones. They're nice just as sausages, with potato and veg -- I cook (well, warm and brown) the whole package, and what we don't eat for dinner make great sandwiches or whatever. I use them in the Toad, as well, the package (12 sausages) is perfect for a 9x9 pan of Yorkshire Pudding -- we love the maple sweetness with the savoury of the sage and onion in the gravy.

Picked a bunch of basil yesterday and made pesto. Think I'll do some pasta tonight -- spaghettini, pesto, tomato, capers, parmesan. No fuss, but tasty.

What does pesto taste like? I've always wanted to try it. I like pasta's but the pesto in the store kind of looks funny.
