My 6month old oci cat doesn't seem to want to clean her rear end. When she uses the box she has soft (not diarrhea, best I can tell) stool. She doesn't really bury anything and doesnt clean herself after using the box. Where ever she next sits or lays she leaves little dirty marks on the floor or couch. Thoughts? I am going to call my vet but if anyone has any observations I would appreciate it.

Should I change her food ? she gets royal canin kitty dry and fancy feast chicken wet.

My aby girl doesn't clean hers either. I used to have to wipe it all of the time, but I find now when she sits that she doesn't put her bum right on the ground, so leaving marks is no longer a problem. It's like her tail base is keeping it off the ground, not that she's holding it an unusual way or anything. I'll be waiting for replies to this thread though. I hate when I do have to wipe her bum!

Good it is not diarrhea, but good poo is rather hard. You could probably pick it up without dirting yourselves...

Thus if it is soft AND leaves marks, it is definitely too soft.

Yes, try with another brand or something. But change slowly.

Some cats, like out boys have stomach of "iron", you can change almost as you like, only difficulty may be they dont want to eat...
Other cats DO eat everything, and dont have issues.

But many cats are more or less sensitive to big changes in their daily diet.

My female is the same way! Just now I introduced her to the new litter box and she happily went and walked out without covering it. Luckily her brother doesn't seem to mind helping her out.
