Does anyone speak Russian?

My new friend has a male dog - such a nice dog! - who she has had for 7 years. The persons she got the dog from are Russian and the named the dog the Russian word for "Ginger." She pronounces it something like "Rechick," but doesn't know how to say it. Can anyone tell me the transliteration for ginger? Thx

Thanks, but I cannot read the cyrillic alphabet. I was hoping for a transliteration, not a translation, so that I could pronounce the word correctly. For example, is it "re chick" or does it sound differently, like "re ad chick?"

I don't speak Russian, but that doesn't look like it's pronounced as rechick or re-ad-chick.

It looks like it's pronounced something like eehmbeehr

и sounds like eeh,
м sounds like m
б sounds like b
р sounds like r
ь is a "soft sign" that makes the preceding consonant sound "soft" and I don't remember what that means.

ETA: Not very useful, I know.

I read the Cyrillic alphabet, and Going Nova has is right: eember. Don't roll the r hard because of the soft sign.
