Should I bring a new kitten into my house?

Well I've gotten all the cats 'round here TNR'd and found new homes for three of the cats I trapped that were tame enough, and a litter of four kittens. And GOSH and golly, right now I miss those kittens. I wanted to keep one but told myself not too because, well, I knew I'd just fallen in love with their cuteness.
I didn't really want another cat. But now that they are all gone and I just have my Raven I miss them terribly. Although I think Raven bows her head and mews thanks to god every five minutes that she's sole ruler of the house again. I've found myself going onto Craigslist every evening lately and looking at all the cats and kittens "free to good home" and wondering just how "good" a home they'll end up in. I especially can't stand the "KITTENS NEED TO GO NOW IF NOT GONE BY (name a day) WILL HAVE TO TAKE THEM TO SHELTER" *sighs*. I prided myself on being strong
but maybe I've been a little to into controlling myself. I only own one cat at the moment, and currently no ferals that I'm really working with. So I'm posting to ask the advice of others who have gone through this sort of dilemma. How do you decide if you are REALLY ready to make a permanant commitment to another feline?

P.S. Sorry for rambling post-you can probably tell my thoughts are slightly scrambled in this area right now.

Don't. Keep on fostering and helping those in need. IMO it's much more rewarding than taking on forever cat. Though, we have some who are our forever cats now... (points to Milo)
