The little guys are growing up! They're wanting to explore more now. The dark tabby came charging up the cage door as soon as I opened it this morning and was trying very hard to get out (they're still struggling with getting in and out of the cage).

Here they are!

So sweet and cute!

I miss the barely walking stage--I have almost 5 week old runners and climbers! I took a video of Dill today climbing the outside of their cage and making it to the top.

Oooh Gigi finished her lunch which she had outside the cage, and went for a bit of an explore afterwards of the room - yay! And the kittens can now get in and out of the cage on their own (the hardest thing is getting their fat bellies over the cage lip!).

Gigi just walked away from the kittens who were nursing (they're all back in the cage now), and slowly walked out of the cage and toward me for some pats! Unfortunately she stopped at my feet, sniffed them, and ran back to the cage...
They're not that bad!!

It's great that she's starting to be a little more independent of them, starting to explore more, and starting to see me as a source of affection

So much for the plate of weaning food I just put down for the kittens - Gigi just scoffed it all down in about 5 seconds, even though she just had "lunch".

Mama's need lots of nutrition to keep up with them kids.

I love the learning to walk stage and they can't seem to get all 4 feet to go in the same direction.

She has plenty of food, she just prefers their soft, tiny kibble rather than her regular food (which is still kitten food).

The kittens might be ready to wean, but Gigi's apparently not ready for it!

OMG! They are sooooo adorable!!! And yes, it looks like Gigi is getting more comfortable in her environment and with you. .... around her babies, too.

I love how they wobble about with their tails sticking straight out for balance. The best part, though, is at the end where Gigi is feeding one of the babies and two of the other kittens start wrasslin'. Then, the nursing baby stops to watch. It's like a bar brawl! They are all adorable, and Gigi isn't much bigger than her kits.

I have been watching kitten kam this morning...
they are all so cute.

What is the plan for Gigi and her kittens futures?
I hope that Gigi is able to adapt to being inside,
she deserves a loving home too.

Sorry I moved kitten kam, so they're a little hard to see now! I wanted to keep an eye on them if they left the cage so I could make sure they go back in, since I'm starting to leave the door open for them

The kittens and Gigi are booked into be fixed at 9 weeks, then they can go to their new homes. I'm going to start advertising soon for homes. I'm really hoping I can Charlie and Gigi into a home together, and then Kate and Sun into a home together.

Kitten season is starting late here, so there's people looking for kittens, and none of the rescue groups have many yet, so I'm in a good position to be picky.

Gigi is quite happy hanging in the crate, hasn't even sat in the window, and shown no interest in the outside world, so she definitely has zero interest in going back outside at the moment. I think she'll quite happily adapt to being an inside cat.

I had a big cuddle with them this afternoon
All 3 kittens were snuggling around my face, playing with my hands, and just hanging out with me in general. They're SO cute!
