What do your cats see you as?

What makes your cat special in its personality/likes/dislikes? I realised today that all mine have at least one trait that makes them stand out in the family and affects their individual relationship with me. They each see me as the meowmy who....


Dushka - the meowmy who she snuggles up against every night under the duvet and whose lap she defends against all comers.

Persil - the meowmy with the cheese knife, always ready to cut a piece of her favourite treat.

Ellie - the meowmy who FEEDs her!

Milo - the meowmy with the smelly socks, that he can roll in each night before going to sleep.

Wellington - the meowmy with the key to the outside door, that he hasn't quite mastered yet - he can operate the door handle as easily as I can and is currently working on the key problem.

Biscotte - the meowmy who is the only person in the world that she will let touch her and from whom she does not hide.

Cinders - the meowmy who protects her from all the other horrid cats in the world.

Bonaparte - the meowmy who plays with him in the garden, but whom he can't understand because she digs all these holes and never uses them, even though he has shown her how!

I've always believed that Topaz considers me a can opener. Otherwise she kept close to Mom. Since Mom passed, she has deigned to allow me to become her chin skritcher.

To Ari - I am the one who is master of the tap that fills his dish and the one with the soft chest for kneading. (Ouch)

For Bob and Lucky I am the doorman. They are the 2 cats that go in and out and they go thru that door at least a dozen times a day.

For Muddy, I am clearly his mommy. Not meowmy, but mommy. He was orphaned and hand raised and I don't think he always realizes he is a cat.

For Koko, I am a set of toes. She loves to lick them and loves the summer when they are bare most of the time.

For Scarlett, I am her slave. Whatever Scarlett wants, she gets.

For Pinky, I am a set of hands. He loves it when I give him major scritches.

For Eightball, I am a lap. He sits in my lap more than any other cat in the house.

For Spanky, I am one to hold a conversation with. We meow at each other for long periods every day. He's quite the conversationalist.

For Oscar I am his protector. He is very timid and doesn't know how to stand up for himself, so he runs to me when he wants to feel safe.

For Stumpy, I'm not sure. He's always been DH's cat and Stumpy allows me to feed him and love on him, so perhaps I'm just another of his minions in the house.

For all three boys I am the amazing meowmy that magically makes wet food appear. The BF will feed them their dry but for some reason I'm always the one feeding their wet meal.

For Luke I am the meowmy that cuddles him when the others are being mean to him, the one that will come and lay down on the bed just because he's there, and the only one that he will let touch his back feet, lol.

For Harvey I am his ever adoring meowmy that he can mew at and immediately be picked up for a cuddle, the one that allows him to come and sleep right by my face purring ever so loudly in the middle of the night, and the one who will always go on a thirty minute search when he's lost one of his favorite toys.

For Danny I'm the meowmy that comes and finds him whenever I walk in the door if he's not waiting at the door, the one who will take Harvey away when he needs a breather from the playing, and the one who always makes sure the blinds are open before leaving the house.

for Princess: i am the meowmy that is constantly fussing over her and wanting to pet her and hold her and all she wants to say is "meowmy leave me alone already! if i want love ill come to you!!"

for Sabastian: i am his meowmy in every way possible, we both been there for each other thru it all.

for Nipper (my troublemaker) : i am a yelling meowmy because hes always doing something he shouldnt be, yet at the same time he is up for a cuddle whenever his meowmy is

For My Little Guy, I'm the cuddler, the comforter, the belly rubber.

For Schweppie, I'm the feeder, the one he must protect.

Im pretty sure all my cats see me as the lady with the food especially Manny and JuneBug....the two piggers! lol. Pooh Bear just wants rubs on the tummy as does Monkey.

for Trinity I am her favorite human and the only worthy of petting her.

for Pooka I am the Meowmy that she loves and her favorite belly rubber

for Zeek I am HIS Meowmy and the only one he cuddles with. (he gives me smurgles!!)

for Rowan I am the person that will do when DH isn't around to pet him (he has clearly chosen DH as his person)

Pooch: The lady who feeds him, cleans his box, and throws his toy around for him to fetch.
Luke: The mommy who unfailingly gives him all the love and touching he needs.
Kelly: The mommy she can always go to when she feels like giving loves.

Rosie: I'm the Mum who gets the treat jar out every time she jumps on the tree

Sophie: I'm her comfort zone the minute i lie down on the sofa to watch t.v.

Jack: I'm his ear scritcher, cuddler, and the one he cries to when he wants undivided attention

I was just thinking about this yesterday because I left for less than an hour & Levi greeted me at the door crying like he was a little starving kitten. This makes me think Levi's Birth Momma must have been a hunting cat & left them only to come back when she had food for them. So.....

Levi -- Momma, who provides food, a good brushing & a warm lap.
Jordan-- The lady who feeds me, cuddles with me & gives in to my every whim & demand.
Isaac -- Momma when I want to comfort nurse on her arm, annoying lady when I want to be left alone.
Maggie -- Momma & the only human in the whole world who can be trusted.

Fiona: Her only female companion who really understands her moods and loves her anyway and gives her love and tells her she is beautiful even when she is grumpy.

ReeRee: I am his protector and cheerleader. Telling him he can acheive whatever he puts his mind too. When he is trying to climb up on something and is having a hard time I sing "Go ReeRee, go ReeRee, GO!" and he always makes it! You can see him gather all his strength when he hears me cheer him on...he is so cute. I am there for him when he doesn't achieve what he wants too and gets really sad and cries for reassurance. I hold him and talk to him and give him kisses. He then gets down and goes to play with the other cats feeling like the troublemaker he usually is.

Rocko: I am his loving companion. While he gets along with the other cats he really loves human contact the best. He is one step behind me all the time when i am home. He loves to sleep with any part of his body touching mine. loves to look into my eyes and give me kitty winks. I am his love and he is mine.

It all goes to show how different each cat is, and why we love their little personalities so much.

Gary always worries that when they're sitting there staring at him that they're looking at him as DINNER.

For Shelly... I'm his brusher, his body pillow at night - and his friend, there to make the feathers fly when he's in the mood.

For Ming Loy, I'm a lap when she wants one (she won't sit on Gary's!), a giant mouse that plays with her, and the food gate keeper.

For Flowerbelle, I'm the hands that open the water bottle and pour it in a bottle cap for her to drink, a lap in the bathroom while Gary's showering (she LOVES that hot/humid atmosphere!)...and warm knees to sleep on at night.

For Lazlo, I'm the "keeper of the space" that makes the annoying cats go away when he's not in the mood to have them around.

For Spooky, I am hands to almost constantly pet her.

For Tuxedo, I am the chin scratcher, the butter server, the chin scratcher, the treat dispenser, the chin scratcher, the dinner server, and the chin scratcher.

For Billy, I am the "not cat" that will let him give headbumps, his meowmy that cuddles him and makes it all better when the other cats don't want to groom him or play with him (he loves to be held like a baby) - and the big "not cat" that makes him purr almost as much as when being groomed by the other kitties by "petting" him with my head.

For Siamie, I am her personal groomer.

For Daisy, I am either her protector or a creature that needs protecting. I haven't figured out which.

For Speck, I am another cat. We play.

For Ichi, Ni, San and Go I am their MOM literally. They were bottle fed and raised as my children.
For Joji, I am her kitten. She's very protective of me.
For Buddy I am the litterbox cleaning lady. He is always by my side when I'm scooping and cleaning the boxes.
For Ashley I am the human who can't discipline the dog so he does it for me.
For Skinny I am the one she loves but can't get near me because the others will not let her (or so she thinks).
For QT I am the connection to her first human family. She was originally my sister's cat.

I guess for Linus I would have to be that person who will spend hours trying to figure out just what the heck he's thinking. Linus has the most amazing bright yellow eyes, and he loves to stare. He will perch himself on the windowsill beside my desk and stare at me for hours. If I say to him "what do you want," He will make this little squeaky sound that clearly indicates I shouldn't have to ask such a silly question.

Sassy looks at me as just another really big cat I think. He loves to groom my hair when it is wet. Is forever licking my face when I am trying to sleep and his favorite position is tucked under my arm with his paws wrapped around my wrist.

I am not quite sure what Pixie sees me as yet. Pixie is now after a year and a half making me a part of her family. She was badly treated and abused by a previous owner and for a long time after I got her she would have very little to do with me unless the other two cats where involved. She would play with me if they were playing with me. Now she will actually seek me out, lays down with me to be petted and comes to me when I call her. I guess she's decided that I am worth keeping.

For Eric and Marie, as far as I can tell I'm a moving scratching post that dispenses treats . For Meezers though, it's pretty clear what I mean to him. He's always near me, wanting to be held. Even as I'm typing this, he's sitting in my lap purring his heart out

Persi: I am the guy who goes to the deli and gets him his very special cut of roast beef (rare) with peppercorns.

Alley: I am the guy who gets up at five in the morning to open the bedroom balcony so she can go out and worship the morning sunshine.
