Oh, no wonder you're fatigued. Low blood pressure and some of the things that contribute to it can cause a lot of fatigue. When mine is lower (falling to 70s/40s standing) I have no energy, sleep, and when I do get up usually end up flat on my face.

You must discuss your blood pressure with your doctor and anesthesiologist. When they administer the anesthetic and morphine (or whatever they use for pain control) there is a possibility that your blood pressure could fall more. You need to have them ready for such to happen.
While 90/59 isn't bad, it's enough that if it falls can be too low for you. Be careful after surgery, too. You may be able to check out early but you may be even more fatigued from this than usual people are.

iirc, you have problems with anemia, too. Have you had that checked lately?

The anemia is ok.
They checked it at the er and yesterday.
I had so many blood tests this week.
I also had a Ekg and a Xrays.

So you've been poked and prodded every which way these last few days, huh? What I was thinking is that, maybe, due to the past anemia and current low blood pressure that you may have lower than normal blood volume. This isn't usually anything serious. Lots of people walk around with less than what is considered "normal" and they're fine.
If that is the case it may make you a little more sensitive to drug effects (lower doses to get the same effect someone would need a full dose to get) and you may sometimes get a little lightheaded - especially if you're out in the heat.
Negative effects are lower blood pressure (than one needs sometimes), higher heart rate, fatigue, and easy dehydration.

The odd thing about low blood volume is some people can walk around with 50-60% of what's normal and have no symptoms. Yet if a person were to lose 40-50% of their blood in an accident they'd go into serious circulatory shock. Researchers aren't quite sure how the body does this!

Back on topic - Good luck with your surgery and I hope you ask about your fatigue. If there's something wrong it could make your recovery time a bit more difficult for you.

Thanks Everyone,
I do get a fast pulse.
I can not be outside in the heat either.
I get severe Migraines.
I took the pain med last night and it made me sick.
I threw up.
Same thing happened in the ER.

If you can handle doing so, eating more salt (especially in summer) and drinking sports drinks plus plenty of water may make you feel a little better.

I'm sorry the pain meds made you sick.
I have that problem with percocets. Maybe ask for an anti-nausea med, you'll probably want one just in case you get sick that first day after surgery (pain meds and anesthesia can cause it).

When my gallbladder was bothering me I usually ate stuff like tomato soup or lipton chicken noodle. Very quick simple things that have little fat. Stay away from crackers, though, unless you're only eating 2-3 or a very reduced fat type. Some baked or steamed veggies (no butter!) should settle ok, too. That this attack will pass soon and you'll feel a little better.

Thanks,
Percocet sounds like the medicine I got in the Er.
They gave me a nausea medicine with it but I still threw up.
I can do soups.

They probably gave you prochlorperazine (compazine) for the nausea. I threw up with it also but after a few doses over a matter of a day or so, it worked ok. They gave me vicodin instead of percocet then took me off all pain meds.
Strange_wings is very right about eating foods with little or no fat. I was told to eat chicken soup broth and oatmeal. Not the oatmeal in the quick packets, but the bland cooking kind. I was also told to drink a ton of gatorade because of the sodium, sugar and potassium, not to mention the electorlytes to keep from dehydrating.
Here's another thing my doc ok'd is taking a glass of water and stirring in a teaspoon of baking soda. It's a tamer type of alka seltzer and keeps your stomach settled. It works for me, I'm not sure if it works for everyone.

Good luck with the surgery and hope you feel better soon!

Yep. And the food doesn't necessarily need to be bland, as I've said. Baked chicken and fish are low fat. Lean pork and beef are ok, too. Seasonings are fine, just stay away from butter, margarine, oils and anything greasy in general. A little aged cheese should be ok, but say mac and cheese would be asking for trouble.
Rice would be fine. Salads sort of depends, since most people have some sort of dressing on them that probably wouldn't work.

I had 8 years to learn what would and wouldn't cause me pain as far as food went.

Jacky, sorry to hear about all this! My boyfriend's sister just had her gall bladder removed and a friend of mine is getting hers removed in 2 weeks. They are keeping her in hospital for 3 days. Lots of for you!
