I have a 2 1/2 year old female that has attitude problems. She has had them ever since we have had her. Well 3 weeks ago we brought in a male kitten 8 weeks old. and she has been playing with him and of course hissing and growling. She had a toy that she wouldn't hardly played with and we let the kitten have it now she wants it. My husband was plaing with the kitten and the toy, she saw them plaing and after they were done she sat by the toy at 11:00 and thenshe wanted to love on me before I got up for work and she had brought the toy upstairs and then she attacked me. not sure if the toy was her problem or what. I know she is stressed out but this morning she attacked me while I was getting ready for work. At first I thought she was just playing but I didn't want to keep her going either, so I tried ignoring her but then she grabbed on to my leg and started biting me and scratching me, I tried to make her stop but that made it worse. She really scratched up my leg and arm. By the time we were back downstairs she was acting like nothing had happened. I would appreciate any advice as to what to do with her. My foot is sore and has stopped bleeding but left some really bad scratches. Thanks for reading my post and all the ones I have posted in the past. Hope someone has some ideas of what to do about this situation. Thanks again.

Is she spayed?

IMO - it sounds like re-directed aggression. She's not happy about the new kitten, so is expressing her feelings in a different manner.

Good for you for bringing a new kitty into your home. However, you violated the first rule of how to introduce a new cat to an exsisting one: check this out before you do anything else:

http://www.hsus.org/pets/pet_care/ou...a_new_cat.html

Some cats are extremely territorial and will continue to attack the new cat or even you after you've followed the protocols in the website above. I know because I have a catzilla like that and spend half of my life moving kitties around (I have four) from room to room. However, I adore my catzilla, and wouldn't trade him for the world....his sister kitty ?, well she says that's another story Ha ha.
Take it step by step, don't rush things and get as much help from this forum for additional steps to take.

That's my thought too. My female does the exact same thing. She's calmed down considerably since I got Seti. It took a while though. Yelling and squirting don't really help this as it tends to make her more angry. I just shut her in the office by herself for about 30 minutes until she works the "kink out of her tail." Never, ever let your cat see you're scared of her. Next time, scruff her and put her someplace safe until she chills. Focus on deflating the situation by speaking calmly. As your kitten gets more established, your female will settle some.
