Though your tit-for-tat response is spot on, I refuse to believe this person is "sick". Sick people, no matter how dysfunctional their actions, are to be pitied for the unfortunate lot they've inherited in life.

I prefer to think of this sort as pure, essential evil. Defining them as such eliminates all of the emotional ambiguity one might feel after learning of their capture/destruction.

Society is so ready for 2012. Let it be so.

Okay, the lady in the article concerned about walking outside in the morning and finding another of her cats dead....uh...keep them inside!!!

There's is no way I'd leave my cats outside if someone was doing that. I'm not sure what I'd do with them but I'd figure out something.

Keep in mind there are a lot of feral cats in that area too.

I thought about that too, but my impression was he was taking people pets, and putting them back where they would find it. I think it's probably unlikely he'd go through the trouble of trying to catch a feral cat.

Yes, that's true, but people who's cats went missing for a few days had them turn up mutilated on their doorstep.

Someone out there knows the cats their going for from the sound of it, so common sense would be to keep your cat indoors or take them out on a harness just in case.

One cat being murdered is bad enough, but theres been too many in that area.

This is a start for a serial killer who will eventually, no doubt, move to human victims. I hope they catch him to prevent future murders, four-legged or not.

I don't know if I agree. The person is obviously a sociopath. I think it's entirely possible the guy or girl started on wild animals to see them suffer (possibly feral cats), then moved onto domesticated animals to give it a more personal touch and to see people suffer as well as the cats, and then will move onto people at some point to see even more suffering.

This is a true psychopathic/sociopathic behavior (I'm saying both because it is both, I'm not inferring that the two are synonymous).

Sending mega prayers and vibes that the monster is caught before he strikes again....

Ugh, I could not even finish reading that story. So disgusting and horrible. I hope they find whatever sick deranged person is doing this.

This is why my cat is indoors. Sicko's like this freak me out and my cat loves everyone so he'd totally walk up and be the perfect target for someone.

People are just horrible.

I agree with Keycube and Lawguy - this is an evil person - psychopathic and sociopathic personality. Totally fractured. Beyond rehabilitation. And definitely on the path to torturing and killing people.

There is no "why" in any of this. B/c this person enjoys it and the impact that it has. That makes me shudder with fear and disgust.
