Meet Moo

My better half brought her home last night. She went to the vet today for her first set of vaccinations, flea treatment and worm treatment. She'll be a healthy baby soon.

Unbeknown to the boyfriend, I've always wanted a cat I could name Moo, hehe. It's gonna be real interesting when we merge households with two Peanuts and a Moo (we've both had our Peanuts since before we knew eachother, just a strange coincidence that we both named our cats Peanut...)

Darlin' Moo isn't in the greatest of condition right now from the fleas... Positive for various types of worms ... round worms, tape worm, and I think the vet also said hook worms. She has been and will continue to be quarantined to the master bathroom for the next few days. She tested negative for all the big untreatables though.

I'm technologically illiterate when it comes to cameras, so as soon as he gets home I'll have him copy the pictures from the camera and give more shots of the tyke

What's kind of odd is she's 8 weeks and already has brown eyes... never seen that before. My Peanut had blue eyes til she was almost 6 month old, then they went yellow/green.

It certainly worked in his favor!

Here's my post from '07 when I found Peanut http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=145704

We used to work together before the company had to slash the finance department (I'm an accountant), and my Peanut came to me much the same way Moo came to us. So I was in the dispatch office (I worked for a local concrete cutting contractor) before we were dating and Brian says I look tired. I'm tell him yea Peanut got stuck last night between a cabinet and the drywall due to lazy finish carpentry.. He looked at me like I was crazy and said he had a calcio also named Peanut and had thought since I started talking about a Peanut that I was somehow stalking him and knew about his cat
We started dating not long after.

He's watching Moo today and I'm at my house sick with my Peanut loving me up as she always does when I'm sick. She never sleeps with anymore me unless I'm sick.

My Peanut now that she's full grown

Brian's Peanut - pretty muted calico - Her head on shots make her look like a phantom of the Opera cat, she has a "mask" of grey across her face

Hmm, this doesn't sound odd to me. Promise's eyes changed when she was ~6-7 weeks old and it was literally an overnight change. I think most kitten's eyes start changing around 6 weeks, but the time they take to completely change can vary a lot.

Yeah, all depends on the genetics, and my understanding is brown eyes tend to change faster and earlier than blue, green, or other colors.

My black mop of a Persian/Himalayan (not sure what mix she is - she has a stubby nose, not flat but not a full length snout either - also now loved by my stepmother, I couldn't possibly separate them when I moved out) had blue/green eyes until she was 4 months, then they gradually changed to hazel then this striking sun-shine yellow. Peanut's eyes turned around 6 months to a green around the pupil/yellow flecking.

My dad's red tabby Loki has orange/yellow eyes, almost the same color as his fur. I can't remember how long it took his eyes to change, was almost 14 years ago that he was adopted.

You can guess what color my mom's Siamese's eyes are, hehe.

No, we're not a family of crazy cat people.
I think the count is up to 13 cats between mom, dad, my aunt, and the peanuts & Moo.

Aw, both your Peanuts are gorgeous girls. Your story of how you found your Peanut is very touching. I think you and Brian were meant to be!

Sorry to hear you're sick. Go cuddle your Peanut and get some rest.
