My two cats will probably never be buddies. They have been in the same house for 6 yrs but the oldest one (NM 10) is hypersenstive and whenever the younger one (SF 7) approaches him, usually to play, he hisses and runs away. At other times they can be in the same room without incident, as long as the female leaves him alone. Nothing physical has happened, that I've witnessed.

Will she ever figure out it's best to leave him alone and will he ever realize she's not attacking him? It's very frustrating! Thanks.

I wonder the same thing about my two males and the feral female I brought in last year. Dusty bats at her in the kitchen, and Mickey doesn't care for her because she used to chase him (in her violent days).

These guys co-exist okay, but the two males (yes, neutered real young) began spraying (especially Dusty) when I brought her in. It's extremely frustrating.

On the other hand, years ago my parents had two cats - the female chased the male and terrorized him. After a few years they learned to get along just fine.

I hope that happens for your two.
