Thanks!

I went and got my prescription filled and took my first dose of prednisone today. When I got home I was gasping for air and coughed for almost 15 minutes straight. I thought I was going to pass out, and now I have a raging headache!

After the coughing subsides and I am sitting not moving around, I feel ok. But when I move around I get short of breath and start coughing. I called in sick again for tomorrow. That's 4 days of work I've missed!
If my job entailed sitting in an office, I would be ok to go, but there is no way I'll be able to manage running around the ward exerting myself right now. And while I'm not contagious, it isn't very good when the nurse appears sicker than the patients she is looking after

Well since I just had bronchitis a very short time ago-I know about the coughing. Even now I think three weeks after finishing my meds I can still have coughing bouts. I carry throat lozenges around in my purse now as it seems a dry mouth/throat makes it worse!

I thinks its a bit physically draining when one coughs all the time too! Just do not seem to have the energy it seems.

I hope you are on the mend. Get lots of rest and drink s lots of fluids-it seemed to help for me.

Hope you're on the mend! I have had bronchitis a few times in the past few years, and it's NASTY. DH and I tend to get it together in the summer each year. I hate the cough that makes me sound like a female beagle in heat!!!

Thanks. I'm hanging in. If there has been any change for the positive it's minimal. I still cough like a pack-a-day smoker when I get out of bed, which is good in a way because I'm moving the gunk out of my lungs that could grow bacteria.

I'm still short of breath when I move around, but that seems a little better. I still cough uncontrollably after some exertion though.

I'll end up missing 5 days of work for this pay period! All of it unpaid! Not too happy about that! So much for getting my new bed this month. I need to keep this pay cheque to make up the shortfall of the next one at the end of the month.

Two steps forward, one step back. Such is life. On a positive note...I'm now immune to whatever it was that made me so sick!!!!

Hope you get better soon Natalie!!!!!!! Here are some man vibes:

As for the bed, have you thought of getting one at QVC or HSN? they have those delayed payments, with no interest that make thigns much easier.

just a thought

Thanks for the well wishes

So far as buy now and pay later, interest free, I don't qualify. While I'm working and making good money, While on disability I had to declare personal bankruptcy at the end of November, 2007. I now have an R9 credit rating.

I was "discharged" as of the end of August last year, so it's been less than a year that I've been out of bankruptcy. During that time I haven't bothered to try and rebuild my credit rating because I actually like the feeling of not owing anyone any money (well, except for the government which I owe $500 to for last years taxes). Actually the thought of getting anything on credit makes me feel physically ill. Guess I learned my lesson about getting into debt?

Given my income and the economy, I might be able to convince a furniture place into giving me credit, even if it's not interest free. But despite my being up front about the bankruptcy, they would still have to do a credit check, and that would show up on my credit report. If I'm turned down, which at this point is a good possibility because I have been out of bankruptcy less than 1 year, it will look undesirable on my credit report.

I do have a plan to rebuild my credit, but not until at least 12 or 18 months have passed since I was discharged. In the meantime it's cash, saving and working extra shifts for the money I need.

No I don't think you understand. That's my point. there is no qualifying. you dont apply for credit to do this. You just agree to have your debit/credit card charged every month. There's nothing to qualify for. My mother has horrible credit, a bankruptcy etc, and she's bought many things using this. it's a special deal qvc and hsn do.

I don't have a credit card. And our debit card system in Canada is very different than that in the USA. Here the banks control their own debit cards, not the credit card companies like in the USA. IE: Our bank debit cards do not carry a Visa or MC logo on them. All my bank debit card allows me to do is to access bank machines to withdraw cash from my account. It doesn't allow me to arrange preauthorized debits from it or buy anything online using it.

I wonder if there is any way you could set up monthly bank drafts through your bank then? Surely they allow that for people who want to pay their bills paperlessly already?

Though that would probably simplify things, so they won't allow it.

I'm feeling a little better today. Today is day 3 of my course of Prednisone. I coughed when I got out of bed, but nothing like I have been doing. I didn't see stars!! I also managed to get from the bathroom to the kitchen and while still short of breath when I got there, I didn't have to flop over the sink to stop myself from passing out. So I am on the mend!

I just might be able to finish putting away the groceries that I bought on Friday. With the exception of the perishables, they are still sitting in bags in my living room!

I'm feeling loads better today! Still coughing once or twice when I wake up, and when I talk for a period of time, or do too much activity. But nothing near as bad as it was last week.

I actually had some energy today to do a few things. I washed my bedding and remade the bed, washed dishes, cooked, washed dinner dishes, cleaned the bathroom (tub, shower tiles, sink, toilet, shower chair). Spot vacuumed the floors in the high traffic areas and put away the groceries that I bought on Friday!

Now I'm bushed and starting to cough, so I think I over did it a bit even though I took rest breaks. So I'm done for the night. I'm going to take some cough syrup, have a cup of decaf and work on some beta testing projects that I need to get done.

I do 3D Art and I work for various stores and vendors in exchange for their merchandise. Saves me hundreds and hundreds of dollars of year and gives me new content to play around with inside Poser!

I'm glad you're starting to feel better. Whenever I get bronchitis, I can count on being without energy for weeks. I know you have to go back to work, but do take it easy when you can so your body has plenty of time to heal!

I managed to get through a day of work today and even did 4 1/2 hours overtime.

Work was nice. They took into consideration that I had been off sick with respiratory problems so they gave me patients in rooms near the medication room and charting station so I wouldn't have to walk so much down long hallways! I really appreciated that.

Now granted the patients I did have were a real handful! Super busy assignment, but the steps I saved walking more than made up for it.

I found that I was still somewhat short of breath and had to stop and sit down more frequently in order to catch my breath, but otherwise I did ok.

I was supposed to work on the ward tomorrow and Friday, but the manager told me that she found out yesterday that there was a 2 day Gynecology Conference at our large trauma hospital in the city, and asked if I would like to go. So instead of working on the ward tomorrow, I'm going to be sitting in a classroom for 2 days instead!

I may go into work on Friday evening for 4 hours just to pick up a few more hours for cut off period! When you work 8 shifts out of 10 in 2 weeks and miss 5 of those as unpaid sick time, that really hurts!!
