My uncle died on Wednesday, he fought his cholangiocarcinoma (cancers of the intestinal tract) for over 10 years today was his memorial service...

Military funerals are especially depressing, the 21 gun soulte and Revery really gets you

Sorry to hear about your uncle. I have to admit that I find the military ceremonies consoling, because there's a whole "community" behind the routine.

I'm so sorry. Any funeral or memorial service is grueling both mentally and physically and military services are even harder, for me at least. My dad had military honors at his funeral, and I kept it together for most of the day until they started to play Taps. Then I lost it. But, it was also healing in a way.

Many prayers going out to you and your family.
