He has like goo in his eye.

Today there was more, like he was crying , maybe because i was annoying him a bit. Do cats cry if they are upset ?

I'm not a vet, but I think your neighbor needs a tube of Vetropolycin to clear up that eye.

None of us here are vets and wouldn't be able to advise you over the internet so please don't use any medications or tell your neighbour to use any medications recommended by non-medical persons. Suggest your neighbour take the cat to a vet.

Vetropolycin is vet prescription. She/he would have to take the cat to the vet to get it. I just threw it out there because between my dog and cats, I've used Vetropolycin multiple times as prescribed by vets. It's basically a mixture of antibiotics in an ointment to battle a multitude of eye infections.

So, to the OP - yeah, tell your neighbor to take the cat to the vet. I'm just saying I have a feeling that the vet will end up prescribing Vetropolycin.

Yes -they do cry. And if he is crying and has a goopy eye, I would take him to the vet .... tell your neighbor to take him to the vet.

Heck - if your neighbor doesn't do it, YOU do it and hand him the bill!

What we are trying to tell you is that goopy eye is usually an infection and it can spread to both eyes and cause real problems for the kitty.

Yes - they cry when they are lonely or are calling their humans... or maybe a mate. Is the cat fixed? He may also be crying b/c he is unwell, though cats usually are stoic... so if he is crying from pain for instance, it would have to be really bad. He may also like the sound of his own voice. What I am trying to say is, the only way to rule out the possibility of problems is for the kitty to go to the vet.

I think theres some confusion. Cats cry vocally but do not cry with their tear ducts. IOW: when a cat crys it is vocal, they do not shed tears like humans might when they are sad or hurt.
