My cat was laying in a window sill when she saw what looked like a puppy of some kind that got loose playing in the street.

I went outside, called the puppy over and she came to me.

It turned out to be a neighbor's dog that got out.

Paying attention to your cat's behavior saved the dog.

I always check outside if I notice that my cats are especially alert. It either means I'll see some animal in my yard or there's people nearby. Around this time last year I was home alone late one night (DH was working late) when Tomas started going to all the windows that faced the backyard and growling. I looked out in time to see a shadow - I think someone was cutting across the backyard or snooping about.

Just last night, Nova was staring at the door. I looked through the peep hole but didn't see anybody. Today, there was a flyer taped to the door. She knew someone was out there.

To the OP, what a smart kitty you have! And good for you for paying attention!

Thanks.

I'm always paying attention to my cat and her behavior.

Yeah, she is very smart.

She found somebody to adopt her after being a stray.
