I have two kitties who feed on Evo and Innova for wet and dry. Vet tech discovered tapeworm on Josie last week and both she and her sister, Dory, were prescribed profenda. I gave it to them 5 days ago.

Josie has very smelly feces and it's a bit soft. She goes daily, sometimes twice a day. Dory goes every other day and her stools are solid and aren't very smelly at all. Would tapeworm affect the odor and composition of feces? Or is it simply that Josie reacts differently to her diet?

I don't know about tapeworms but food and smelly poo's I do know.

Kizzy can't handle rich food like Wellness Core...holy cow did his poo ever stink....ewwwwwww. It was gross. I've heard alot of people say the same thing with really rich foods.

what food does Josie eat? (every cat is different...) Has she been rechecked since the worm treatment?

Josie eats Evo and Innova for both wet and dry. The chicken formula for adults and kittens. Saw the vet yesterday and she said it wouldn't be from the tapeworm and that it's most likely Josie's reaction to her diet. But I do remember she had smelly poo even when she was on the shelter food of Science Diet. I also noticed that she sometimes smells like poo, I haven't quite figured it out yet. Not sure if it's from her breath, smelly butt, one of paws touching the poo, etc. But the odor is there.
