I have no idea what 4 ounces of fur looks like, though I suspect it's a pile that's larger than most cats.
I can show you what it looks like on my cat though. I took Thufir in to get his Summer do (a buzz cut from the base of his neck to the base of his tail) this morning and I was curious how much all of that fur actually weighed. He weighed 17 lbs. 4 oz. before I took him to the groomers and 17 lbs. 0 oz. afterwards.

Here's the before pic of him being weighed in:

And another before pic of him eyeballing my shrimp.

And here he is after the grooming:

What a handsome boy. He doesn't have that "OMG what the hell have they done to me?!" look about him.

wow what a great looking cat!!!!

Does he seem perturbed? I was surprised that tinker didn't seem to care at all about having her belly shaved.

Hi, thanks for all the compliments. Thuf used to let me cut mats out of his fur, but I messed up and cut him once (felt terrible about it), so he fusses and fidgets when I try now. At the groomers, he just plays dead and lets them clip him no problem.

Actually, other than actually going to the groomer, it doesn't seem to bother him at all. If anything, he wants to snuggle up more because he's cooler.

Thufir you're so handsome!!
I love his summer furcut!
I use to have a himmy and even when she got to be 18 yrs she still loved her furcuts. She wasn't so much into the groomer but not 15 minutes after being home, she ran and played like a kitten and loved scarring all the other kitties.
