I think this is a good place to state my argument.

As we all know, Sunday is Mother's Day. I argued last year and I maintain this argument, that I should be recognized as a mother. Bella may be a furbaby, but she's still my BABY. And I'm not sure if I can have kids, but I know I will always have pets. But I really don't consider them pets, I consider them family members. Bella is like my daughter, and I'm sure a lot of you feel the same way about your babies.

So why shouldn't people wish me a happy Mother's Day? Or in my case, Meowmy's Day?

Not only that, they should buy you presents and take you out! My wife and I have no kids together but she expects (and gets) presents and taken out for Mother's Day. My birthday is just a few days after Mother's Day and once as a kid I forgot about Mother's Day so my mom just decided to forget about my birthday!

Oh I don't want gifts or anything like that, a card might be nice. But I would like to be acknowledged as a stellar meowmy.

I have 5 cats and a dog and I always get Mother's Day presents from them. Somehow Jim sneaks them out of the house so they can all go shopping together, so he says. And then they all sign the cards. Its sweet and I love it.

I don't think Jon's going to get me anything for mother's day, even though I feel like Cammy's mommy. Of course, he may have just been saying that in front of his brother. But I'M going to get him something for Father's Day and then he'll feel bad!

My mom died from breast cancer and I wanted kids but it did not happen.
I gave up trying and doubt it will ever happen.
So mothers day is sad for me.
I do consider my cats my kids.

Wow, I can't believe you guys have been married 15 months and he still hasn't learned to say, "Yes, ma'am" to everything you ask of him.

As far as Meowmy's day is concerned, I was picking up a Mother's Day card for my mom and came across a couple of "from the cat" ones, so I bought one for my neighbor Susan.

Also, I think Catchannel.com is having a Mother's Day photo contest where members submit pictures of themselves with their furkids.

There's a local restaurant that gives out coupons to all moms and grandmas on Mother's Day that's good for a free meal at a later date. I've been there with my parents and grandma on Mother's Day in the past and when the waitress has given my mom and grandma a card, I've accepted one too. I'm meowmy to my kitties after all.

I just wish that on Mother's Day, out of all days, they could make my morning coffee and bring me breakfast in bed, instead of me having to drag myself out from under the covers to feed them.

I get a "Happy Mother's Day" from my parents for being Meowmy to my kitties! I always get my Dad a father's day card from his kitty Onyx.

I'm sorry to hear about that. I've not tried to have kids, but always wanted them. I made the decision not to try due to health problems. It was the hardest decision of my life. Sometimes, I almost wish it would happen accidentally. I recently asked God to give me a baby, if I were meant to have children. I wasn't going to try to get pregnant, but I figured if I did, it was God's will, and I would accept it. I also feel a twinge of hurt on Mother's Day. Well, I'm still not a mom yet, so I guess it's not meant to be in my case. Your situation is different--have you spoken to a doctor/fertility specialist? I've read that couples can "try too hard" to conceive--in other words, relaxing helps things work better. I don't know much about all of this, but I know that a lot can be done to help you conceive. Keep your chin up! I hope it does happen for you.

I to am a proud Meowmy! It's not just me, but Maia makes it perfectly clear that she looks up to me as her meowmy! She is terrified of all people, trusts me in every way, and completes me!
