Ok..
I have be suckered into the world of cats.
It's amazing. As you may remember, I found the 2 feral kittens in my barn. I've kept one, had the spayed and ear tipped because I was going to put her back out in the barn with all my other barn cats. decided to keep her as she is so small and I've just fallen in love with her. Sooooo, I found a beautiful Calico kitten on petfinders and I called and I'm going to get her this sat. I figured Smoke needs a friend to play with. I've never had cats before my barn cats, and now I have one indoor cat and I'm getting another. My poor dogs don't know what to think.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
(Pet) Cats are like potato chips, aren't they?

Congrats! I'd recommend a slow introduction... here's a good article on introducing kitties.

Of course, you have to use your judgment about how they're reacting to each other, but cats are all about territory, so slow introductions (at least being prepared for that) is the best way to ensure a peaceful transition.

What I've been able to learn from the foster mom, is that she gets along with the other cats that come and go, there hasn't been any problem. She is the same age as my girl, and my new one, precious, was just spayed 2 wks ago. Been totally vetted and is clean. My girl Smoke, was found with her sister in my barn, and had been hanging out with my other barn cats a bit. No problem there on her part. she has only been indoors for about 4-5 wks. One thing my new girl does, according to FM, is, when she meets someone new, she goes totally limp. She will stop doing that when she get used to someone, but at first she just acts dead. She is a kitten from the TNR group. FM just thought she was too cute and going to be so small that she couldn't put her back out. I've never heard of a cat playing dead before. Should be interesting.
