whooooo! i finally found a place in town that sells evo 95% meat canned. i went the yesterday and got 3 flavours, turkey and chicken, beef, and venison. the venison was a little can so i opened it last night to see what they thought. frodo ate it no problem and blue was interested but probably not hungry. this morning i opened the can of turkey and chicken and was pleasantly surprised that it was actually quite wet. and...the best thing! they ATE it! whooooo! i hope that it is not just a one time thing, i am going to keep my fingers crossed. they both seemed very interested in it. also, more good news, a case of 12 13 oz cans is almost $12 cheaper than a case of 12 wellness!! that is over $24 in savings a month. and it is much better food imo.

here is a picture of the happy kitties

here is a link to a video of them enjoying their new food

I don't know the food (being in NZ) but had to post and say love the pic and I love it when kitties are happy with their wet food. My eldest cat (9) has to have a different flavour every day!

blue is 11 (12 in june wow!) and she is pretty picky. she loves the chicken and turkey flavoured foods. i really hope that they will like the beef flavour too so i can rotate.

Wow, that's nice to hear. I haven't found the Evo 95% meat, but I tried the regular Evo and the almost identical Innova and unfortunately, I have one cat who won't touch it, so I don't have a lot of hope there. The Wellness is definitely to pricey to feed 4 cats every day though, so I'd like to find a better alternative.

i didn't like the plain evo food, i found that it was too hard (dry?) and there were so many carrots!! cats don't need carrots! my kitties would only eat it if i mixed it with tons of water to make it soupy. even then they would only eat a little. this stuff they ate right out of the can and i didn't have to mix in any water. i hope that they continue.

can you order the food online? i guess the shipping on cans would be expensive though.

i read at the pet food store yesterday that wellness has been bought by the company that owns eagle pack and that the prices of both foods has gone up and up. the company says that it is because of the weak canadian dollar but it has gone up 3 times in less than a year! the store had a sign up asking customers to email the company to let them know their displeasure. it is frustrating. i am paying $36.66 for a dozen 12 oz cans of wellness! that is crazy. my guys eat only canned and 12 cans last 12 days. the evo 95% meat is $2.05 a can, thank goodness.

The shipping would be somewhat expensive, but it would probably still come out cheaper than buying Wellness. I'd probably want to find some locally before I did that though because I have some picky eaters and a sensitive stomach. My success rate with new foods seems to be < 50%, so I'd hate to buy an entire case of food only to discover they don't like it.
