So just adopted a cat and he loves to rub on peoples legs which is fine, but when I walk he walks in front of me pretty close where I can't take proper full strides in my walk or tries to rub legs while walking or if he is on the side or behind he sometimes darts between my legs or under the foot I'm raising. I have good balance but this almost took me out onto the floor and can be a big problem in releasing him into free reign in the home where grandma stays.

How do I stop this kind of behavior now? This is an ASAP need to fix situation or he cannot stay here or he might trip grandma and land her in the hospital.

Also he seems to want to bite toes...what is up with that?

You can go psst and stomp when he's darting underfoot. Unfortunately some cats simply won't learn until they get a paw stepped on.

How old is he?

The toe biting is just a type of play. Wearing socks and going psst/no when he does go after your toes can help.

He is 1 year old. He has lived with dogs and cats before, but I have yet to introduce our other animals. I will today. For the most part an inside cat I think by the way he is so gentle about peoples things and likes being more deep within the room than exploring the area by the door.

I wanted to see if i can get him to stop the running under people because he wants out of my bedroom, but I cant let him go around the house and follow him around to not run under grandma.
