I stepped on a slug in bare feet once, in the dark. Didn't know it was a slug until the next day, when I found its, uhm, remains. THEN I totally grossed out.

Stepping on a snail is a bit worse than stepping on live june bugs. EWWW I've learned to slip on shoes stepping outside to empty trash
