Introducing my sweet kitty family! :)

Hello all, let me introduce my kitties. I live in Alberta Canada and am the proud mummy to 6 gorgeous and beloved cats. My first 5 were adopted from a local no-kill shelter when about 1 year old (when I bought my first own house and stopped renting, within months I went from 0 cats to 5 cats) back in 1999. My senior cat joined our family 4 years ago (in 2005) from a different local no-kill shelter.

My cats are amazing as they are a truly interactive gang, and the amount of mutual grooming and cuddling and adoration that goes on amongst my cats is extraordinary. I will write a blurb about each cat, followed by a photo and some miscellaneous photos at the end.

--------------------------------------------------

Murchie is a true character cat. I requested a needy cat that wanted lots of attention, and the shelter came up with Murchie! He is very unique – and has the happiest of hearts and embraces life so fully – nothing every gets this cat down. He is rather zany and dances to his own drum, so to speak!

Liam was paired up with Murchie in the shelter when they were kittens – they love mutually grooming and are great friends, despite having very different characters. Liam is loving with everyone, very athletic and healthy and fit, and is so kind to other cats (he grooms nearly all the other cats quite a lot!). He is also a real mummy’s boy and has the most innocent of hearts.

Duncan is a real sweetheart and just so innocent and kind. He was a bottle-fed baby. His special thing is that nearly every time I leave, he hops in the chair in the front hall to say good-bye and starts purring and wants a cuddle – I call the chair the “see you later” chair!

Toffee is a total smooch. If he had his way, he would lie in bed all day cuddling – he is one of the best cuddlers in the universe! He too was a bottle-fed baby and although not from the same litter as Duncan, they were reared together.

Callym is a senior cat I adopted when I wanted to add a senior member needing a loving retirement home to my cat family. He had a difficult rescue when the shelter found him (Callym has a frostbitten ear as you can see in photo). He instantly became close friends with all my other kitties and fit in immediately – just like he had always been there! Callym now has oral cancer, and I have written about this in the “Cat Health” section of this forum - my heart is breaking into pieces about this devastating turn of events.

Rexy is my only girl, and as such she wears a collar with a wee bow on it. She came from a crack house that got shut down, and is a really fun scrappy little girl. Part tomboy, part girly-girl! And Callym’s best friend.

Welcome to the site It's sad that it has to be through Callyms ill health that your here, but your surrounded by people who have one thing in common with you, our love for cats, so know that you won't be going through this alone

Oh my word!, that's one gorgeous bundle or fur children you have there!!

If you get a chance, start a thread in fur pictures as well with them, because more people go in there.

And your sweet boy Callym, bless his heart That picture of Duncan grooming him is so precious

I really couldn't say this any better.

They are just incredibly beautiful. I am always in awe of cats that cuddle each other since mine won't usually even share the same couch. You are one very lucky person and they are lucky to have found you
