I don't believe there's no need for a cuteness warning - it just goes without saying

I'll keep updating this thread with new pics as they grow up.

The feral mama I trapped on Friday night had her kittens yesterday morning. I came home after being out for a few hours only to discover she'd pushed out 6 gorgeous babies!

They were lying on the soaked newspaper, so I cleaned up the cage, and put them on a fresh bed. Here's their first photo:

They're still wet!

And this is today:

Pile of kittens!

Look at that little face!!

And a video with the babies squeaking
You can see mama too - she doesn't look too freaked out by me being there.

Yep - first litter! The youngest I've fostered is 3 weeks old, and their mum was incredibly sweet.

Look at those faces!
To borrow a phrase from Susan, looking at them makes me feel "broody"!

Kelly - you're right about the mama cat poo
Maybe I should buy noseplugs as well as earplugs to get through the nights...

She watches me closely, but that's it

I took out their litter box just before to clean it out, and she just watched me. I went to the other end of the cage and gave her more tinned food, and she just watched me. No hissing, no growling

I think the poo is worst just after all the placenta eating!

There really IS nothing cuter than a pile of tiny kittens. I love when they get to the fluffy awkward stage though, when there eyes haven't been open for more than a few days and their heads are way too big for their bodies. I can't wait for more pictures!

The one we lost this morning was sitting apart from his litter mates, and had a small blood clot near his back end. When I took him out, his breathing wasn't so good, and he had some more blood coming from the kitty's urethral opening. I have no idea what happened.

The other one I found at the opposite corner of the cage from its litter mates against the litter tray. I don't know if it crawled there and died from cold, if it crawled there because it was dying, or if mum moved it there because it was dead/dying.
