So cream kitten only has one eye open today and when I looked at it again tonight it seems to have a bit of green crusty's around it. Should I be worried? I took a warm wet cloth to it and wiped it alittle- I removed some of the green crust, but I didn't want to push too hard.

Here's the kitten in question

Thanks

Don't worry too much about it. Wait a couple of days and if it doesn't open contact a vet. In the past I have had kittens that will have one eye open for a few days before the other eye opens.

Don't worry too much yet. If you want you can dab some warm water on it to help- if nothing happens in a few days, call your vet and ask...

Thanks guys!

This morning both eyes were crusted shut and the crust was green colored. So I went ahead and called the vet--she said it probably is an eye infection starting--to keep putting warm compresses to open it and honestly to bring it in to get meds. But I had eye infection meds left over from last summer on our other cat--actually a whole tube because he refused to let us put it in. She said thats what they would prescribe, and although she couldn't actually tell me to use it, if I were to use it, do it 3 times a day and probably all kittens would end up with the infection.

So this evening hubby and I put some in the open eye (I got it open earlier with the warm water) and over the other eye, which actually hasn't opened yet). I'll continue to do warm compresses on both eyes daily and eye meds. As well as monitor the other kittens--another one had its little peepers open today.

Well cream one had the one eye open today-no green crust but the other eye was still crusted closed with green crust. I held a wet cotton ball on it and some green pus came out and finally it opened!!! The eye looks fine, so I was able to put meds right in the eye and went ahead and did the open eye too. I'll check again tonight and reapply meds. Bless its heart--if it isn't trying to plow its way into my heart I don't know what. I didn't weigh them today, will do tomorrow--figure at this point everyday is going to start to get to be a bit much. Will still continue to love on them each day tho--everyone's little peepers are open today!!

Yes, we just went through the same thing yesterday with my little foster kitten
His eye had the same yellowy-green puss too(And he's a cream coloured kitten too!
) We tried water, but it didn't work, so we got some meds from the shelter we're fostering for, and this morning his eye was open!
Yay!
Hopefully your little one's other eye opens too!

Yes, that is a large kitten--of which I'm terrrrrribly smitten!!!

S/he is the biggest of the bunch beating the smallest by nearly two ounces.
