I was visiting a friend the other day and had her 8 week old female kitten on my lap. My stomach growled and she sat up and hissed, looking all mean and tough. I laughed until I cried.

I love to hear them growl and hiss. My sil's full grown cat growls when he gets mad, but he doesn't bite. We laugh our butts off at him.
We have a litter of 2 1/2- 4 1/2 week old babies (3 belong to the momma and 3 she adopted, thus suggesting different ages) and any time you startle one they'll give you the tiniest hiss (and then roll over for you to pet their belly,
) It is the most adorable thing ever.

That is too cute. I think the cutest little hiss I've ever heard was from about a 4 week old feral kitten. I picked her up, she looked at me and gave me her best hiss followed by a spit. I have never laughed so hard in my life. I just told her she was very scary & continued to hold & pet her.
