What is it with kitties and my big toes?

Both Ally and Ollie do this. Ally's been doing it since her mouth was big enough.

It starts out with me laying in bed watching TV. Usually Ally or Ollie will jump up on the bed wanting to lounge on my leg or stomach. Then, they see one of my big toes and I can see the look in their face change from relaxing to interest, their pupils dilate, and their butt starts to wiggle in anticipation of pouncing.

Then, they pounce on my big toe and grab onto it with both front paws.... then it's all just nom nom nom nom nom.

I don't get it. About 2 dozen toys in the room, each other to play with - and they do all of that, but I don't see nearly as much interest in their eyes as when it's time to feast on my toes.

Toys don't wiggle of their own volition...

Yeah... there is something about feet that cats like! Can't wear sandals into the cat adoption area... or I will get nibbled!!! I think its the shape, color and movement.

though I must agree that I will never understand what cats see in our toes, Skunk has the exact same problem! he nibbles! I can tell you that when attempting to sleep and something is literally nibbling on your toes..it's quite an odd occurrence! and he's a grown large cat for jeez sakes! It's both adorable
,creepy
,tickelish
and I shall never understand it!

All in all..you gotta love your cats ^_^

Better a nibble on the big toe than a sharp claw into the center of the bottom of your foot at about 4:00 in the morning.
That's a rude awakening! Anyone know how I can convince Ginger to nom instead of claw???

Fortunately, my kits understand that my toes are just like my fingers - part of me, and not a snack.

Penny, very strange girl that she is, actually enjoys being petted by my feet - I give her a toe-scritching or a nice foot-to-belly rub, lol.

It comes in handy when my hands are busy giving lovies to two of the others at the same time.

That's better than a 6m/o kitten jumping up and down alternating between trying to do CPR and digging a hole through the futon to your crotch!

Ollie likes to jump on my face sometimes in the middle of the night. Don't know why. I don't think he'd like it if I snuck up on him and started jumping on his face.
