I just bought six months worth of Advantage for my two cats. The vet tech said I should keep them separated for up to 12 hours so they won't lick the meds off of each other. The vet said 6 hours was enough. The Advantage instruction sheets simply said to keep cats away from each other. What are your experiences?

I live in a small apartment and I have to keep the cats out of my bedroom due to my allergy to them so keeping them separated is a bit daunting.

Personally I've never separated my cats after applying flea meds. I just keep an eye on them, but they've never tried to clean it off one another to my knowledge.

I have two boys who are both on flea preventative monthly. I never separate them after applying it. I've never seen them trying to lick the other's off. I'd just keep an eye on them. Probably won't be a problem.
