Maybe some people may think millwood is a byb but do your research. But my cat is awesome. I am so sick and tired of everybody on this board calling out each breeder as a BYB. Lets talk about Jean Mill. Because my cat is very closely related to hers. Zoey's breeder is Jean's mentor so is that byb breeding? my sweet Zoey is not a show cat but she is very beautiful. I don't want a show cat i want pet quality cat until we can get licenses for our future bobcat
Um, i'm not really sure where you're coming from with this, but Meaghan simply said that if the OP wanted to see what a bengal really looked like, and we all know that Nial has the most stunning bengals, than she should look at his site. She never said a word about BYBs
and as other posters have said if this woman is charging $30 for this kitten and it has never seen a vet than that is not a steal, she can get a kitten form a reputable rescue that has been vaccinated and altered for only a little more than that in some cases.

all of our cats are beautiful, no matter where they came from.

I may have been the one to mention BYB of Bengals. But never mentioned any breeder as being one. I know there are a lot of BYBs of Bengals out there because they are popular. Just so a person is aware of really checking out the "breeder" before you buy.

Just to warn you...

Craigslist has a large amount of what the community calls "pet flippers". These are people who always seem to have an abundance of "purebred" kittens and puppies that they have to "re-home". They then post that they have a Bengal or a Blue Russian or a Maine Coon that they have to get rid of due to allergies, moving, other animals not liking them or some other sob story. They say there is a re-homing fee and then will rope unsuspecting people into buying this "purebred" kitten or puppy for a an amount of money that is less than what you would pay for a real one but more than even a shelter sometimes for what is really a mix that might look like the real breed.

These animals are normally not vetted, not spayed or neutered, and good luck getting your money back if there are any problems. These flippers get their animals from... you guessed it... Free to Good Home ads.

The reason your kitten is most likely only $30 is that if she did indeed start out with $150 and couldn't get that price they lower their price fast in order to get the sale. She still makes $30 profit.

Buyer beware on Craigslist when it comes to pets.

Interesting - but agree with you. If I wanted a mixed breed, I'd probably pick one up from craigslist if I liked the kitten. But for purebreds (which I buy as a pet but buy quality to show) - I will go to an ethical breeder.

Sounds like a kitten "flipper" to me. I know in our town people get free kittens and puppies and then resell them the next day.

Here is the kitten I adopted from operation kindness here in Dallas for $130. he has his first shots, he has been neutered, he is microchipped. I got a free bag of food, 3 toys, books and a free follow up visit with a Vet on their list of vets.

it's a wonderful place to go adopt a healthy pet that needs a home.

We named him Alex.

he very scared and hisses, so it;s going to take some time forhim to get used to us.
