Hello - I'm new to these forums. I've read through the cat intro article here as well as in many other places and yet it seems like we are making backwards progress with our little ones instead of forward progress.

We have had Artemis since February 14th, he is now 5 months old. In the three months that we had him, we spoiled him rotten. We got him a sister, Calypso on Sunday (9 weeks old) to keep him company while we were out during the day. I know the first response is going to be that we haven't taken enough time with this, and I understand that. But I'm really worried about Artemis. He seems to be getting worse day by day. Not only does he hiss, growl and spit at her when we open the door to let him see her, he is trying to get into her room and hunt her. When we let him into her room to get used to her scent he hisses - He also hisses at me and my husband when he smells her on us. He's now taken to hiding which he never did before. He won't let us touch him and he's move all of his toys to our bedroom from his play room. His eyes are constantly larger than usual and he is walking closer to the ground.

We have tried giving him treats to make the experience better and we are always with him, but he ignores us. I've picked up some Feliway spray but they didn't have the diffuser - i'm not sure if it's working. He is just acting so scared and angry. Have we moved too fast? Is there something else we should try? It doesn't help that she sits at the door crying because she wants to come out and play and be with us. Right now I have two unhappy kitties and it's really stressing me out as well. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance

He is not - she is. He is scheduled to be neutered May 5th.
