Did my good deed for the day

Thought this was funny...I just met someone to sell them a painting, and while driving back home, I saw a turtle on a two-lane road to my house.

I drove past him a bit, and then thought about it, stopped, and reversed...(He was certainly going to get hit...People do not swerve on two-lane roads to avoid turtles). Then moved him to the opposite side of the road, (the side where he was traveling to), and then got back in my car, as there were like, three cars coming up behind me, LOL.

So I switch my car into gear and my engine goes, vvvvvvvvvvroooooooooooom, but I'm standing still....I put it in neutral! ROFL I felt so stupid!

Luckily, I was able to figure out putting the car into drive, and got home to post this thread, .

PS: I think he was a Three-Toed Box Turtle, he had a pretty dusty-red color to him

Thank you for moving the turtle! And as always, be careful when doing so. Some people actually get hit because those same people who don't drive carefully and won't swerve for a turtle won't swerve to avoid a person either...

You worry me! That's dangerous! But it's heartwarming to hear anyone save any animal
