Micha is nursing just one kitten. Both seem to be thriving (with the exception of a slighly goopy kitty eye, but not green/yellow). Baby Zack is 8 days old, and growing and developing (its so cute when he stretches!). Micha is a good mommy, although starting to feel a bit cooped up. She takes short walks and stretches, and looks for some human company - but at most stays away 5 -10 minutes before returning to the nest.

It seems odd, though, that Micha is not very hungry for the past few days! I understand that she doesn't want to leave the box for too long, so I put her kibble in with her. She is taking kitten glop, but doesn't like when I mix it with kibble. Will she be okay for now with only the kitten glop?

My housemate thinks that she is just wanting me to "baby" her, and that is playing me! Hehehe, knowing Micha, I don't put it past her! (Example, she is an outdoor cat, although usually eats inside - so that the food doesn't attract strays or ants. But when she finishes eating, she sneaks out of the kitchen and runs to hide behind the books in the book case - we can only find her for the ear tips poking up from behind the books! When I shoo her out towards the door, she all of a sudden gets "hungry" again - knowing that I won't interrupt her while she eats. She keeps eating until I impatiently get distracted with something - but she watches me, and when she gets the chance, sneaks out of the kitchen again!)

ANYWAYS, she seems fine in terms of energy, and Zack seems to be getting all the milk he needs...

If she is only nursing one kitten than she doesnt need nearly as much as she would if it was a litter of kittens. My cat had 4 kittens and eats a little less than when she was pregnant and her milk production and weight are great. Just keep a high quality kitten kibble out all the time for her and than give her the wet food a couple of times a day. She should be fine. If her weight and the kittens are good, than there is no problems.
Congrats and Good Luck!!!!
