Hi everyone!

My two cats were sick a while ago, and I had to inject horrible tasting medicine into their mouths twice a day for about a 1.5 weeks... they only way we could make this happen was having me or my boyfriend hold them and the other using the syringe to inject it into their mouths. Now, neither of them want to be held any more, they squirm and try to get away when before the medicine they didn't mind being held and i could just walk around the house carrying them for quite a long time some days (depending on their mood
)

Do you think they'll get over the not being held once they forget about the medicine? We stopped giving it to them about a week ago...

Also, the way we clip their nail is by me holding them and the other clipping, they seem to tolerate that okay, but they certainly don't enjoy it.

Anything we can do to make them like being held again? Maybe give them a treat each time we pick them up. I usually try once a day to hold them, but lately it only last like 2 seconds until they want down. I make sure to put them down as soon as they start squirming though so I don't force them to be held.

Flash was like that for a couple of weeks after we had to do the same thing, she hated every minute of getting her medicine and it seemed like she resented me because it was me giving her it. she still has her moments where she wont cuddle me and will just go straight to blaine

it just takes time for them to settle back down so they know that you arent giving them medicine anymore
