if I get a used cat tree or condo, will my cat smell the previous cat on it and not use it?

curious about your experiences..

I have a small carpeted tree from a friend, I sprayed it with enzyme cleaner and left it out in the sun for a few days before letting my cats on it.

I would be concerned about things my cat could catch from other cats. Ringworm for one. Ick.
Two: Cats are VERY territorial and would smell the cat and lord knows how they would react. I wouldn't want to take the risk of them peeing on it. Again, ick.

I agree with the ick factor. Unless you are getting the furniture from a very good friend and a trustworthy source, I wouldn't do it. There could be any number of germs and diseases or bugs in the furniture. It is simply not worth it IMO.

I would not buy used cat furniture. IMO you really cannot get it clean and who knows what the other cat was carrying (fleas, etc.). I'd buy a new one or build it myself.

What was the reason for the sun? just to let it dry quicker? or something else?

I would not unless i knew for sure the cat had been tested for serious communicable diseases.

I would really advise against this. It's possible to transmit some cat diseases via the unwashed hands, hair, shoes, clothing, etc of people who have touched a cat that carries and illness. Not all cats show outward signs of illness. Some cats are asymptomatic carriers, others have viruses that have gone into remission, but can still shed asymptomatically. The way to clean an environment to avoid transmission from one cat to another is bleach. Carpet/plush fabric can't be bleached and thoroughly cleaned like a non porous surface and can harbor all kinds of things that could make your cat seriously ill.
