Black Silver and Silver are the same thing. Just a difference in the name from Europe and Australia/NZ versus the USA.

Still the same color

Oh - I'll have to check later - work doesn't allow some pics. Was commenting on the color.

I'd guess on an American Shorthair. I'd expect more mass in a British Shorthair, a more cobby cat.

British Shorthairs:

American Shorthair:

Oh, watta heck. Just to add to the confusion.

European Shorthair:

However, I still say American Shorthair.

There are lots of ASH breeders around (well maybe not in Europe) - where are you located?

To make matters worse the Europeon SH almost looks like the American SH! Thanks a lot for the confusion guys

Very beautiful cat! I don't know much about ASHs because I've never seen one, but the cat in the pic could be BSH female.
Doesn't look like a European Shorthair to me, they have a bit longer noses, narrower/different shaped heads and their ears are bit higher on the head.

I'm definitely going to recommend a British Shorthair if you are looking for a cat.

Ok now that I'm home and can see the picture. I will pick Silver Classic Tabby British SH for a few reasons.

1. The tail is thicker then an American SH.
2. Comparing the head to both ASH and BSH pictures below that, IMO the cat looks more Brit then American.

Its probably a female because the head is a little on the smaller side compared to a male Brit or ASH.

Then again, if its not a purebred, its a cross of ASH and BSH - and that is why its not clear cut.
