I took Jake to get his rabies shot today- that's all he had left to take so he's all done with shots now!

There is a vet that comes to my local pet store once a month and does in store shots so I took him there....
And I was going to get revolution- I regret not getting it now it was only $60 for a 6 month supply but I was with my mom and I didn't want her to see how much money I actually am spending on Jake..
anyway, now I ordered it online.. They were selling revolution and the vet was not doing any kind of exam or anything- she didn't even give any kind of exam to jake prior to his shot. The vet was just giving shots to animals who were in line and then you went to a separate desk to pay and get things like revolution from there...
I was at the desk where you pay and asked for the prices and if they had 3 month supplies I would have gotten it but they didn't so I said no ...Then I asked if I can get a prescription and they said sure but that'd be $9 prescription fee..So I was going to get that and they got the vet to write it, but all she started doing was writing the presciption without even looking at Jake, not taking him to weigh him!! They asked ME how much he weighed!! So I said no thanks...
It made me wonder why is revolution prescription only? Was that vet just seriously not doing her job? The site where I got it didn't ask for a prescription but thats how most online pharmacies are anyway...

I know Revolution and the like are very tempting to buy online, but just a word of caution. No online pharmacy backs their medicines. If something were faulty and it caused Jake to get sick, there is nothing you can do about it. It's also very controversial as to whether what you're getting from the online pharmacy is the same as what you would get from the vet. With Revolution, I believe it is the same, but many would disagree with me. The best place to buy medications of any kind (even flea prevention) is ALWAYS from a vet that you trust and knows your pet personally. As far as price goes, it really is a very minimal difference. For example, at 1800petmeds.com a 6 month supply of Revolution is $78.99 with free shipping. Most vet clinics around here charge $70-$80 dollars for that, and most will give you a free dose with a 6 pack. And you get the piece of mind knowing that it came from a reliable source. I don't mean to lecture, but as a vet tech I've seen a lot of pet owners come in with nothing but complaints and problems about online pharmacies. Of course, it is ultimately your decision. Just some extra knowledge to help you make that choice!!

Yea I know..It's quite scary. I actually ordered from a site where someone on here mentioned they order from and had no problems- i think it was carolinalima who mentioned in another thread so hopefully that's a plus...

Ok then, I'll ask.... how much does Jake weigh?

I personally don't trust any type of meds for cats and dogs online. But that's just me. I'm sure others do just fine with it. I get everything from my vet because he knows all the history

I'm always thinking my Beau is really tiny for his age. He's about 6 months and he's barely 4 lbs. I'll have to weigh him again. And he definitely still has his baby face.

I saw Beau's profile pic and omg cuteness overload...Lol I just had to say this, he is sooooooo precious!!!
Don't worry some cats just have smaller bone frames..He looks like a very healthy kitty from his pic!!
