Our male cat is chewing on the neck of our younger female cat. We've only had her since February and he's been doing this for as long as we've had her. But its gotten worse since she gave birth 12 days ago, she is completely fine and happy.
He will watch her and meow at her. Then, he'll run and jump on her back and bite her neck. He doesn't hump, just tries to stand on her while he bites. She will be wide-eyed for a few seconds and then mew while trying to pull away.
Punishment probably won't work, so what can we do to help him see that chewing on her neck is NOT what we want him to do. We read that punishment won't work, so we should just withold affection. Does that mean we should put him in the bathroom for a time-out or something? Because if we separate them and then "withold affection" he just goes back and does it again.
