We have realized that we really NEED to clean the cats' teeth. Sprout is only 3, but he already has some nasty decay. Bastian and Griffin are 1.5 and while they don't show any tooth decay yet, their gums are very red. And Griffin has HORRIBLE breath.

So I bought some gauze and some kitty tooth cleaning gel. We wrapped the kitties in a towel one at a time and went to work. None of them liked it too much, but Bastian and Sprout were relatively cooperative. Griffin, on the other hand... DH and I are both bleeding.
I really hope this gets easier as time goes along!

If you can get them to eat chicken necks or wings, or other boned meat that does a wonderful job of keeping teeth clean.

Hmmm, maybe I'll give that a try with Griffin and Bastian. With Sprout's food sensitivities, I think I'll have to stick to brushing for him though!

Also - I've been told that even getting them to lick the kitty toothpaste (not even having to brush their teeth) will also help.
