So my boys get dry food 2-3 times a day and wet food once in the evening. I have two food bowels as well as their water bowl. They refuse to eat from the others bowl. But lately I've noticed something even more strange. Harvey always eats his dry food from behind his bowl, Luke from in front. It never fails. But I just fed them their wet and noticed that they both eat from the sides of their bowls!! I did an experiment and moved them to their usual positions and within seconds they both had migrated back to the sides of their respective bowl!
Anybody else have kitties picky about their eating positions? I'm curious if it's common or if my two are just weird, or weirder than I already knew they were,
.

Well, I don't really count because I only have 1 cat. She's the most unpickiest ever. She'll even lay down with her face in the bowl to eat her hard food lol Sometimes she'll pick one piece out at a time with her paw. Wet or dry, when she's had enough, she'll do the cover the floor over the food activity then walk away and that's my cue to pick it up.

I think they just eat where they feel comfortable. My cats have individual bowls and they position themselves in a way that the others will not have a chance to steal their meal.

When I had Cleo(rip little one!
) and Polly at my mom's, they always ate next to each other, one on the right, one on the left. I can't remember anymore who was on the right/left, but they were always on the same side. I wondered if it was the actual dish or not so i switched them, and no, it didn't matter, they still were in their respective places. Maybe just a routine thing? Who the heck knows....

hiding in the bathtub
I had to move the food dishes into the living room from the kitchen for a while and they hated it! They acted like they just couldn't eat in a different spot

That's too funny!
Maggie doesn't care where she eats. I can get her food dish or bowl and carry it all over the house and she'll follow it and eat wherever I put it. She'd probably eat in the bathtub if I put it in there
