(Kittens) When do they open their eyes?

Hi!

A friend of mine's cat had kittens two weeks ago. All of the kittens except one have opened their eyes.

When do they normally open their eyes? Is this one kitten maybe a late bloomer? He is healthy and normal other than the eyes not being open yet.

Thanks for your help guys!

As far as I know - around two weeks on average. If your friend is concerned, she should talk to the vet.

It varies - from abut 4-5 days to 14 days. Average is about a week old.

Hmmmm, so its a little long for this guy then.

I will let her know that..hopefully he is okay. Do they ever NOT open them?!?

Yes... I am sorry. I SHOULD have said BY 2 weeks. You're friend could call her vet ... better safe than sorry. If a kitten doesn't open its eyes then something is wrong. There might be some sort of congenital problem that needs to be addressed.
