I just got back from the hospital.

My ex sister-in-law had surgery today to remove some lymph nodes and some cancerous tumors on her left kidney. She was supposed to be out by 12:30 pm, but when I called PA to check on her at 3:40 pm, she had just been wheeled in. So her surgery was extended by 3 hours!

I was freaking out thinking there were problems. But I found out about an hour ago that he was digging around and exploring all of her organs and sent the largest lymph node to pathology. It came back as cancerous so he removed several more lymph nodes until he got a clear pathology report. So that's why it took longer.

As of right now she is cancer free!!!! She is not going to need chemo or radiation. She may need further surgery in the future to remove other tumors because there are noncancerous cysts in the area. So she will be having frequent CT scans to keep monitoring her condition for any changes.

I was so happy when I heard that news that I burst into tears!

She is still in Post-op Recovery, because her blood pressure was really, really, really low, plus her urine out put is not very good so they gave her 4 units of blood. She should be heading back up to the step down unit (1 step below intensive care) anytime.

Thanks so much for all of the TCS vibes! They worked!!! *hugs*
