Hi guys! Boss has been with us for almost a month now.
We knew that he has bad teeth since the day we adopted him because the vet told us so. But the vet did not say anything bad about feeding him dry food, instead, the vet told us that Boss preferred dry food.
However, we noticed that whenever Boss eats dry food, his mouth gets dirty, and there will be bleeding from his gum.
So we started feeding him wet food only for almost 2 weeks, and he loved wet food!
But I wonder is it okay feeding Boss wet food only?
He gets 2-3 cans of Wellness or Wevuna everyday.
Or is there any dry food that contains more moist in it which is easier for Boss to eat?
Please help and I must say thank you for anyone who can give me any advices
!!

A lot of vets still preach the need for dry food to help their teeth and I truly believe that is out of date advice. Cat specialists tend to follow current research and both specialists that I have talked to preach wet. There are so many positive medical benefits from feeding an all wet diet, and many people have gone beyond wet and are feeding an all raw diet.

I've read some of Lisa Pierson's articles on cat nutrition. Here is a link to her site with some very good reasons on why to feed an all wet diet:

All-wet is best and feeding wet food brands like Weruva and Wellness is ideal (rather than say, feeding wet Fancy Feast). Dry food doesn't really help their teeth (there may be 1 or 2 that can help in a small way, but most don't). The best thing you can do is feed all wet food and then use a dental rinse or try brushing the cats' teeth.

I feed my cat mainly wet if he'll eat it and I free feed dry during the day when we are at work. I feed James Wellbeloved, I tried the applause dry but it wasn't great. The James Wellbeloved dry is really small kibble pieces so he can eat them easily, some of the larger kibble dry foods do hurt cats teeth. I also use Logic gel on my cats teeth, its like a toothpaste that I get from the vets but you just put a bit on kitties front teeth and kitties rough tongue does the rest! If you can't rub it on your cats teeth then you just put a blob on kitties front paw and kitty will soon start licking it off and that will do the job
