Rude awakening

Almost 4:00 a.m. here and there we were snoozing away when I heard this horrible crashing and scrabbling noise. ALL the cats came scooting in the cat door and so I grabbed a flashlight, opened the door a crack and peered out on the new addition. I didn't see anything amiss, but I could hear something behind the bathtub, so I shine my light in to the crevice and "Hello Skunk!" Beautiful healthy looking fat skunk waddles up to me and I freeze, as it waddles over my toes. I am standing there barely breathing going "Dear God, don't let it spray, no spray" and it goes in under the dining room table and just stares at me!

I carefully slide my way over to the bedroom door and open it and go inside. Mike is fully awake by now, and he wants to see it- even though I tell him it is a really bad idea. So out he goes anyway (men) and he shines the light under the table, and there is Mr/ Mrs. Skunk. I guess they too have a stare down, and when he hears that warning click they give right before they decide to spray he comes running back in the house! LOL

I just pray it is a Mr. Skunk and not a Mrs. wanting to have her babies somewhere in our new addition. Oh the joys of country living, and now good night- no stink, so apparently tonight will be odor free.
Oh and the dining room table is out in the new addition, not in the house- thank God!

I believe that animals can sense things about their surroundings. Kind of like auras. Hissy is one big bright beautiful aura, and all animals near her want to be apart of it.

Then, could I please have an anti-skunk aura please?

Poor Whisp, she was outside all night with M. Skunk, I tried to coax her into the house, but she will have none of it. I finally put a large cat carrier on the front porch and covered it, and she went inside there to sleep. I think her spot under the house is taken by our black and white nocturnal vistor.
