At my uncle's job at the pet store, he tends to see a lot of dumped cats and kittens. Since he knew that I was looking for a new kitten since we put Mons to sleep recently (of course we could never replace the poor boy), he's been 'on alert' for me. Sure enough
, I got a phone call while at the carnival outside the mall. Before the conversation even ended, we were already heading back to the car to see the poor precious kitties.

There were two mother cats along with a huge family of kittens for each that were abandoned in two crates. They found the animals right when they were closing the doors. Someone must have just dropped them off. One family had a bunch of orange cats and brown tabbies and the other family had several white and a flame point. We picked the flame point boy since he met the criteria we were looking for (pointed, male, medium hair). The only problem is that he is a bit young. He appears to be 5-6 weeks. I'm thinking closer to 6 weeks since even though some kittens were nursing when we checked them out, he only ate the wet food at the house and not the formula. We are going to see if we can squeeze him in at the vet's tomorrow and if not, he'll go next week.

Edit: They will call one of the area rescues to pick up the rest.

OHHH looking forward to pics. I think I'd have chosen the red point too and/or the red tabbies. The vet can determine the age. He is young, but you have experience in cats and kittens and have other cats to guide him in the proper cat ways

we were unable to get him into the vet today (no appointments until Wednesday), but we did weigh him at Petsmart. He is 1.2 pounds and about six weeks. I spoke with one of the volunteers at the rescue while at Petsmart and they did indeed take the families.

Edit: We took TONS of pics already with the camera. We're trying to figure out how to load from mom's camera.

Edit: Sorry about the uneven sizes. I was trying to shrink them to the same size.

Top Cat is beautiful and cute! I have a weak spot for red/flame point boys (see Elijah Blue-eyes as my avatar). What is his nick name? Does he have one yet? He's going to be a gorgeous grown up.

I love his coloring, he's gonna be a dark red point as the color is pretty dark right now as a kitten! I'd call him Hot Shot

should have named him that then

so far he has a great, energetic personality. I just hope it keeps (except maybe he can calm down a notch
) so that he will do well when I put him in cat shows. He's too pretty not to show
.
