I need a good Italian name

For our new show boy, born to Rome and Cairo. Since Rome is his sire, I would like an Italian name for this little guy.

He is currently listed as "Edgar" on my kitttens page.

Doesn't have to be the name of a city!

Helen, I hope you chime in here!

Help me out folks!

Enzo is a cool name!

Are you looking for names that start with an E ? Some are Emilio, Edoardo(Edward in English, Sophia Lorens sons name) and Enrico.

Some of my favs not starting with an E, Franco, Francesco, Gerardo(my Poppy's name) Gianni, Bruno,(means Brown), Caesar, Gino, Lorenzo, just to name a few

How about ancient roman names? That would be interesting, especially since the romans occupied (what is now) Cairo for a period about 2000 years ago.

Here's a list of governors of Roman Egypt, many with pretty spiffy sounding names - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...of_Roman_Egypt

Ravioli - good enough to eat.

How about Luciano, if he's very vocal.

Caesar!

"Render unto Caesar what is Ceasar's."

That is what I was going to suggest.

How about Trevi? Both a city and a fountain in Rome.

Someone brought a Cane Corso puppy in to the vet's office where I'm working today. The puppy's name was Bocco.

Lots of good names here! I also like Leonardo.

Does it have to be an "E" name, Nial or just Italian.

Another is Marco, like Marco Polo the explorer.

Matteo (Matthew which means Gift of God)

Angelo.

Actually, here is a very cool list with name meanings:

I'll third that!...

If you want a Roman name I suggest you go through a list of the Roman emperors, you could have a whole Imperial family in one litter!...

Caesar, Augustus, Claudius, etc...

Cats think they're in charge anyways...

Thanks for all the feedback and name suggestions!

We had a cat named Trevi awhile back, so although I like the name, I won't use that one this time.

I've got it narrowed down to 7 names from all your suggestions. I guess I should start a poll.

In no particular order:

Franco
Caesar
Octavius
Giovanni
Tiberius
Vincenzo
Valentino

I'll pick Giovanni and Valentino - depends on how much of a lover he is.

He is a stunning boy with any name

How about Luigi...
