A 2nd blood test for my Ragdoll

I took Lita back to the vet yesterday for a recheck. She had a full panel blood test 4 months ago and the results were not very good with a BUN reading of 100 and her potassium was high. Lita is only 6 1/2 years old and is the best of my 6 cats total as she is very loving I got the results today from a smaller blood test. Her BUN went down to 72 (2 times too high still) and her potassium level is now normal. I have been giving her Lactated Ringer fluids under her skin 2 times a week for 4 months. The vet recommended back in the beginning at 150 ML per session X 2 times a week. Today I opened up a new bag of fluids and happened to notice that each line on the bag is only 50 ML instead of the 100 ML I have been thinking it was Lita appears to be doing well......she probably would be doing better if I did not do this mistake. I have accidentally been only giving poor Lita only 100 ML I felt so stupid for Lita......... ...... and called my vet and told him of this. My vet is pretty mellow and said no problem and laughed.......he told me to give her 200 ML for the next 2 times (Lita will be a little water balloon with whiskers at this amount as she only weighs 7 1/2 pounds now) then decrease the dosage to 150 ML X 2 per week. I just feel soooooo guilty for my mistake as Lita's BUN level probably would be much lower than 72. Any advice or good words would help right now

I am sure others make the same mistake with the fluids.
I do 100 ml every other day with Coco.

Thanks for the support........How old is Coco? Do you warm up the fluids first before giving them to her? Lita is a very special cat to me.......She is my best friend in the whole wide world

Don't feel bad! We all make silly mistakes. At least her numbers are coming down, even if her BUN is still in the 70's. When does she get her blood rechecked again? Hopefully increasing the amount of fluids will bring it down some more.

Lita reacts very little when I stick the needle in her back (pink needle)......Warming up the fluids is like night and day I warm up the bag to 97-102ish.......Lita excepts it pretty well Please PM me if you have other questions. The bottom line is.......I feel bad for reading Lita's fluid bag wrong......I never wanted her to have any more problems than before....

I do worry about her.....as she wattles when she walks in everyday in her life.

I got cut the other day on a needle after I had taken it out.

I just tried to give Lita more fluids.......She took in about 150 ML out of the 200 that the vet said I love Lita and will bend over backwards for her
