Okay..I feel like such a dork! You'd think I never had a cat before. It's been 17 years since I had a young neutered male.

He's 10 months and just neutered a week ago. Sure...he sprayed a couple of times after he got here but that was it. He was even a stinky, smelly male cat but now he smells nice finally. But I keep smelling spray, real light smell, in kitchen and hallway. And there is no spray to be found. My husband actually got on his hands and knees last night and sniffed everywhere. Does he have a hole somewhere and is leaking? He has slept on my couch all day and no smell in there and no smell even where the litter box is. So what is up with that?

If you're sure he's no longer spraying, it's possible that you missed a spot when cleaning (or didn't clean thoroughly enough). The smell of cat urine can be veeery persistent, and it often takes more than one try to remove the smell.

If you're having trouble locating the site, you might want to try a black light. I know some people have used one to locate spots they couldn't otherwise find.

Thanks! The smells are gone now. Weird. But I'm glad.
