Jacky, yes Zee's breeder will be there. She is the one actually showing him, he will be benching with her.

I guess I feel the pressure for my baby LOL His half sister is a GRP at just under a year old, he has other "family" that are some of the best Sphynx in the country.

I suppose in many ways I am wanting to be a wimp, because I hate the show mentality so many people seem to have *sighs*

I used to show rats..yeah can you believe that LOL That was horrid the way breeders dogged one another. I had some of the finest breeding stock available, yet I was not a breeder..wow I caught flack for that one. I guess they did not see the point of a pet owner having them. You cannot use every worthy animal in a breeding program, sometimes they need to go out as pets.

I guess the bad taste is still there from something so simple. I am really hopeful this wll be a great experience for us.

Anita,
You will not have to worry with Mary there.
There were a lot of breeders bashing each other.
That one that played games with me before I got Cleo sure is hated.
She was not at the show.
Everyone was nice to us but they were bad mouthing each other to us.

You can show cats that are not pedigrees - you just show them in the household pet classes. Only requirements are spayed/neutered if 8 months or over and cannot be declawed.

I've shown in the HHP classes over the years - many of my cats win a lot. Ling hates showing or she would be shown with my pedigrees

I would love to try Sasha or Meeko in HHP but Sasha would freak and Meeko is almost 9 and has a heart murmur.

JuneBugBear07,
You should try to go to the show.
It is open 10-5

Bring your camera and take lots of pictures.
I think this show will have more Rexes then anything else.
The last one had a lot of Persians.
I think it is 8 dollars to get in and 7 for parking.
I have never been to the Fresno fairgrounds before.
You will see a lot of different breeds there.
I saw La Perms and Selkirk Rex for the first time.
There were no Russian Blues though which I love.

Jacky - its not common to see RB's in CFA, ACFA, or TICA shows. In general, the breed prefers quiet - not the chaos of show halls. There are exceptions, but I'm lucky to see a RB once or twice a season!

I would have loved to show my Russian Blue mix in the HHP class but she will go crazy if I even tried. She has the typical Russian Blue personality.

What a shame Russians have that reputation, over here they are lovely on the bench, I've never seen one act up.

They often act up here - they are definitely one of the breeds I'm cautious when handling - along with MCO's & BRI's

Sasha wold not get to the ring if I brought her.
I would be bit and clawed up for sure and she would get loose.
I already got slashed more then once by her.

I am actually surprised that you have to be cautious handling MCOs and Brits...really. I have yet to meet a seriously nasty MCO or BSH on the show bench, but then I'm no judge! With no exception (except when bathing) I have had no problems at all pulling (stretching) an MCO or showing a BSH...hmmmmm!

Yup, well it's different lines I guess
I judged one MCO on the weekend and he was a ham!
